How to get to Nordic Light.

Getting to Nordic Light is part of the experience.

Set on Norway’s Atlantic edge, Kristiansund may feel like a hidden gem, but it is easier to reach than many imagine. Whether you arrive by plane, road, train or sea, the journey brings you into one of the most distinctive coastal landscapes in the country.

Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget, is located just minutes from the town centre and offers easy access to the festival. If you are travelling from elsewhere in Norway or abroad, connecting through Oslo is often the simplest route. For many visitors, the arrival itself becomes part of the mood: the coastline, the islands, the shifting weather, and the light that has helped make this region so unforgettable.

You can also reach Kristiansund by car or bus, or a combination of train and bus. For those who wish to combine the festival with a wider journey through Fjord Norway, the route itself offers spectacular scenery. Arriving by sea is another beautiful way to enter the city, with the harbour and surrounding islands creating a memorable first impression.

Once you are here, much of the festival experience is close at hand. Kristiansund is a compact and welcoming town, and moving between venues, cafés, hotels, exhibitions and events is part of what makes Nordic Light feel so personal and accessible.

Nordic Light begins before the first talk starts - it begins with the journey here.
